What Is a Rice Flower?
The rice flower (Ozothamnus diosmifolius) is a shrub native to Australia, from the daisy family. Its stems carry dense clusters of tiny, round buds that open into small white or pink star-shaped flowers. The buds look like grains of rice, which is where the name comes from. The needle-like leaves have a light, fresh herbal scent. Rice flower is one of the longest-lasting cut flowers, and it dries beautifully without losing its shape.
